Update: Ryan Reynolds has now posted a second video with Hugh Jackman 'addressing' timeline questions, the canon behind Logan, and an MCU FAQ surrounding Deadpool 3. Just don't expect any real answers.
"I have a lot of questions. I'm sure you had a lot of questions. But rest assured, we're going to answer them right now. Like, for example. how is Wolverine alive after Logan?" Jackman asks.
Reynolds then responds: "Logan takes place in 2029. Totally separate thing. Logan died in Logan. Not touching that. What actually happens in our films is..." before Wham! is played over the pair's voices in a comical fashion. The Deadpool and Wolverine actors then sign off by thanking Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and the MCU itself. Check out the video below:

Original Story: Ryan Reynolds just broke the internet by announcing that Deadpool 3 is officially taking place in the MCU with the one and only Hugh Jackman set to co-star as Wolverine in the film.
Taking to Twitter (opens in new tab), Reynolds released a promo video announcing the third Deadpool film since 2016, after months of silence and a no-show at D23. What nobody expected was the return of the beloved X-Men actor following his emotional and fitting sendoff in Logan. Hopefully, they do the character justice and finally give the actor a chance to put on the classic yellow suit.
Jackman first played the part of Wolverine in 2000's X-Men before donning the role a further eight times until hanging up his adamantium claws in 2017. Deadpool 3 will be the first Deadpool film set within the MCU as a result of The Walt Disney Company's £$71.3 billion purchase of 21st Century Fox in March 2019.

“Hey, everyone, we’re extremely sad to have missed D23, but we’ve been working very hard on the next Deadpool film for a good long while now. I’ve had to really search my soul on this one," said Reynolds.
"His first appearance in the MCU obviously needs to feel special. We need to stay true to the character, find new depth, motivation, meaning. Every Deadpool needs to stand out and stand apart. It’s been an incredible challenge that has forced me to reach down deep inside. And I…I have nothing. Yeah, just completely empty up here. And terrifying. But we did have one idea."
The Deadpool actor then asks: "Hey, Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?" with Jackman replying: “Yeah, sure, Ryan". Just as easy as that.
Shawn Levy, who worked with Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project, was subsequently confirmed to be directing the movie.
I want to take minute to thank #StrangerThings for training me to keep my big mouth shut. This news has been burning a hole in my lips for weeks now🙃⚔️September 27, 2022
Deadpool 3 is scheduled to launch in theatres globally on September 6th, 2024.
In the meantime, here's every Marvel movie and Disney Plus series announced with release dates. This will then all build to two new Avengers films – Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars – so it's certainly set to be a great couple of years for superhero fans.
